Victoria Street Station is a planned light rail stop on the Green Line in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It will be located along University Avenue on either side of the intersection with Victoria Street. The station will have split side platforms, with the westbound platform on the north side of the tracks west of Victoria, and the eastbound platform on the south side of the tracks east of the intersection.[2]
Along with Hamline Avenue Station and Western Avenue Station, this was originally planned to be an infill station which would be built after the main line had been constructed if there was sufficient demand. However, significant political pressure and changes in the Federal Transit Administration's rules led to an early 2010 announcement that it would be built at the same time as the rest of the line.[3][4]
Construction in this area is expected to begin in 2012.[5] The station is expected to open along with the rest of the line in 2014.
